No option to switch to audio outputs on Roku TV
I’m genuinely frustrated that in 2025, something as simple as switching audio outputs on a Roku TV still isn’t an option. I have a Hisense Roku tv mounted on the wall and my speakers use the “headphone” audio jack.
Currently, if anything is plugged into the headphone jack, the TV automatically disables the internal speakers. While this makes sense in some cases, it becomes a major inconvenience when the TV is wall mounted and the jack is difficult or impossible to access regularly.
There is no way to manually disable the headphone output or switch back to TV speakers with settings. This means the only way to use the internal speakers again is to physically unplug the headphone connection, which simply isn’t reasonable for many setups.
Who designed this? It makes zero sense that users aren’t given a simple toggle under audio settings to manually switch between headphone output and TV speakers. Wall mounted setups are incredibly common, and forcing people to tear their TV off the wall just to switch back to internal audio is ridiculous.
Hey, Kyleeeeee
I understand you are having issues with your Hisense Roku TV, where there is no option for switching audio output.
The headphone jack on Roku TV isn't recognized for audio output. For private listening, I recommend using the Roku mobile app to stream audio through headphones connected to your phone or tablet.
With the Roku mobile app, you can connect to your Roku TV and use headphones plugged into your phone or tablet for private listening. For more details, feel free to visit this link.
