Unfortunately, your experience above is the reason I retired my RokuTV to a guest bedroom and replaced it with a non-smart TV and connected a Roku device to it.
I began to have very sluggish performance with my Insignia Roku and the OTA/Antenna function became increasingly reliant on the Roku OS and affected by too many bugs. (setup with Roku OS8 or 9, and really went downhill beginning with OS11.5). While the bug may be eventually addressed, it would either be re-introduced or a new one take its place with the next update. Just too irritating to deal with when trying to relax.
Roku continues to take too many liberties with its OS and the lack of real severability between the OTA and Streaming functions is primarily why I only use and recommend the HDMI connected Roku devices over an integrated RokuTV. A television should not have to be connected to the internet to watch Over-the-Air programming and access its programming guide. None of my other televisions in the house have this requirement.
