Shuffle photos in Roku Photo Streams

I'm trying to get my photos to display in random order using Roku Photo Streams. I read that pressing the * (Star) button should bring up a shuffle option, but I don't see it when I try. Is there another way to shuffle or randomize the photo display?

    We understand that you prefer your Photo Streams photos to appear in a random order. We're here to give you more information.

    The Roku Photo Stream app does not have a feature or setting to randomize photos from your album. However, you can achieve randomness by creating multiple albums and placing one photo in each album. This way, the photos will play in a random order instead of sequentially.

    Roku is a disappointment. This issue has been being reported for years. They give some canned response but the issue is never resolved. It seems like an issue such as this should be easily resolved by anyone doing programming for such a large streaming service such as Roku.

      Likely a result of Roku being more a marketing company than anything else. The stunning thing is, many people would probably accept a little advertising within their photo slideshows if it meant that the photo slideshows were at least functional, even more if just some of the feature requests were to be addressed.

    This is only a solution in the bizzaro world.  This is not a solution whatsoever.  Shame on you Roku.

    Echoing the frustration here. I'm about to ditch the Roku altogether and get a Chromecast that will at least offer some decent connections to play my Google photo albums. They are pretty cheap and I recommend it to all. The moderator responses here are either a very poor excuse of an AI model or people that have no clue.

        Add our voice to this issue as well. Wife has 4 albums now and still can’t get it to show past the first 50 in each. It’s always the same photos, until it’s been on for hours. We connect to google photos albums

    How can I get Photo Streams to display my photos in random order or shuffle them?
    I tried using the Star button, but it doesn’t show a shuffle option like some Google results suggest it should. Am I missing something?

        What type of answer is this? Clearly they just use AI to reply and shut us up and mark the ticket as "Solved". How can you suggest creating 300 separate albums and then upload one photo to each album individually. This is an insane recommendation to give. I hate this "AI revolution" we are in, so useless.

        This issue is not solved. Why not respond with "This is not a feature but it is currently on our roadmap and we'll keep this ticket open and update until it is fixed."

        P.S.: If this was a real person then this recommendation is even worse.

      We are here to assist you with your question about shuffling the photos on your Roku Photo Stream.

      Roku Photo Stream does not have a setting for shuffling photos. But the good news is, once your photos are in the stream, they will automatically and randomly play during slideshows.

        I taught English. I know everyone has written very clear descriptions of this "shuffling" issue that we all experience. Perhaps it is the word "shuffling" that your bots do not pick up on. So, let's rephrase the issue the way you have responded. The issue is: Photos DO NOT randomly play. The same handful of a dozen or so photos randomly play. What about the other 350 photos?
