Totally get it—constant screamers can ruin the experience and make streaming feel more like a headache than entertainment.

And it's the same commercial over and over. Enough of Kevin Hart! My reaction now is a quick mute and what's on the other channel?

I feel the same and I have Roku TV so I'm being punished by having to watch/hear (I mute them). No chilling out in my living room, we're always grabbing the remote to mute the commercial. If I'm too tired I watch another content provider. I just spent a hour complaining via chat with someone who is sending the complaint to marketing. The person I chatted with had not seen the commercials so I told him where to look on YouTube. Fingers crossed.

The advertising department responsible for the ad should be fired and the CEO should have to watch this ad until they are fired !

Hard to believe this (& other) screaming, obnoxious commercial, is still on the air! Do they honestly believe this is a helpful marketing decision? Do they think their audience is only a bunch of six-year-olds???

I don’t know who to talk to about this but please, I’m begging, get rid of the Big Al Law Offices commercials!! They are beyond annoying, obnoxious and loud. Any idiot can tell those people are not “real clients”. This guy is a scumbag and the commercials are unbearable. I love Coach, Magnum, and Simon & Simon but I will stop watching Roku if that commercial doesn’t disappear! The shouting, the BS - please!!

Roku does not have much control over the ads and ad content. They hire a marketing company who does the advertising and once it is approved it runs for a period of time.

In this case, they have complete control. It's a Roku ad for Roku TVs. They have to own this one.

I just wanted to remind people that there are many apps available on Roku devices so there is no need to stick with one that drives you nuts. I've never seen one of these ads, so the comment about watching another content provider clearly works.

Annoying commercials have been in existence since TV began. Remember the Wazzupppp commercials for example? They do that to get your attention, negative or positive so that you see the commercial, even if you hate it, you now are talking about it and paid attention to it, even if it was subconsciously.

JWS9518 Sorry, but you're wrong on both counts. There's a pretty big difference between just "dumb" ads, and ridiculous, overly loud & intentionally obnoxious ones, especially when presented by the very same company that the commercials are about, and are broadcasting! To say that some marketing company and not Roku controls what Roku airs, and which ads ROKU CHOOSES to run, about their own products, is absurd, and not helpful to the thousands of viewers who are up in arms about the insulting, intrusive, and upsetting ads they've been running, which are nothing but shouting matches!
They have total control over what ads of their own, that they are broadcasting, and I highly doubt the fact so many are "talking" about it, has done anything but lose them viewers, and given them a bad name, as a company that ignores the complaints and experience their own customers are having...- LisaM2Channel Surfer
You’re my hero. Extraordinary. Thank you for your accuracy and eloquence.

I loved the Wazzupppp commercials. My 6th grader made me a lizard-like sculpture in Art class with a big old tongue sticking out - we always laughed together at those commercials. We never found it annoying, negative or hated it, subconsciously or otherwise. He’s all grown now and every once in awhile, we’ll say “Wazzupppp!” when he walks in the door or when we call each other just for the fun of it.

My point was that some people might find that commercial annoying, just like you don't like the one you are referring to. I remember some commercial that sang some annoying song a couple years ago, but just because I didn't like it, doesn't mean everyone did. It aired for a while, so I guess it was successful. Regardless, most marketing companies that do ads for various businesses, tend to follow the same playbook, which is why you see commercials that get attention in one way or another.
