Annoying commercials have been in existence since TV began. Remember the Wazzupppp commercials for example? They do that to get your attention, negative or positive so that you see the commercial, even if you hate it, you now are talking about it and paid attention to it, even if it was subconsciously.
JWS9518 Sorry, but you're wrong on both counts. There's a pretty big difference between just "dumb" ads, and ridiculous, overly loud & intentionally obnoxious ones, especially when presented by the very same company that the commercials are about, and are broadcasting! To say that some marketing company and not Roku controls what Roku airs, and which ads ROKU CHOOSES to run, about their own products, is absurd, and not helpful to the thousands of viewers who are up in arms about the insulting, intrusive, and upsetting ads they've been running, which are nothing but shouting matches!
They have total control over what ads of their own, that they are broadcasting, and I highly doubt the fact so many are "talking" about it, has done anything but lose them viewers, and given them a bad name, as a company that ignores the complaints and experience their own customers are having...

We can agree to disagree. There are tons of annoying ads and have been tons of annoying ads for decades. I find most ads annoying, but the mute button and ignoring them works well for me as I am not going to waste my energy on worrying about ads. To each their own though. If Roku or any other brand was really worried about those types of ads, they would stop, but they haven't and they won't. Once that ad (and others) has ran its course, they will be replaced with some other ad that will probably annoy somebody along the way. It is the nature of marketing.

He’s got you there. But you need to have the last word. So you’re going to talk about how this is just a matter of differing opinions? HA! I love how you make it sound like you’re so mature and intelligent that you’re “taking the high road “. I bet you go through life like that. I had to laugh at your valuable lesson on marketing. You tried but you fooled no one. Dweeb. I’m done here. Peace out.

I am at least mature enough to not resort to name calling. I am not trying to defend anything the company or any company for that fact does. I don't work for them. I am just a consumer, just like you, but I guess we can't have any discussion where opinions differ???
