Roku app will not load

Have a Roku 3820RW stick in the TV's HDMI2. Cannot get the Roku app to load. It's only the Roku app. It starts then goes back to the home screen. This happens whether I use the Roku icon on the home screen or try from a previously watched show. Ran into a dead end with that ChatBot. Also, I can sign into Roku from our desktop and get Roku fine. I'm running out of ideas

    You mentioned that the Roku app still crashes back to the home screen upon launch.

    Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Device connection: Go to Settings > Network > About to check the Wi-Fi status. If not connected, select Set up connection and follow the steps. Once connected, select Check connection to test your network.
    2. Update app: ( Highlight the app, press the star (*) button, and select Check for Updates.
    3. Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.

    Please be more specific on the app you're using. There is no "Roku" app. There is "The Roku Channel", "Roku Media Player", and "Roku Cameras". Is it one of these, and if not what app?

      It's the Roku Channel that will not load.

        Thanks for that. Just needed to be certain. I just tried TRC on my Ultra and it worked fine. I'm assuming you have powered your Roku off and back on, just to ensure it's a clean startup. If that didn't help, the next step is to remove the app, reboot the Roku (critical step, do not skip) and then add the app back. If you don't reboot after removal, then it's never really removed.

        To help us investigate this further, could you please provide the following details:

        • Roku device info: Software version, Device ID, and Serial Number (found in Settings > System > About).
        • Tracker ID, Software version and build (press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times when the issue occurs)
        • App build version (highlight the channel and press the star (*) button of your Roku remote


        In the meantime, try to update the Roku device. Let us know what you find out.
