One issue may be the operating system difference. The Samsung, LG, and Android/Google TV devices are all Android-based. Apple is totally unique, and the app store may put restrictions on ad money.
And yes, Roku is it's own unique OS, but then, it is the ROKU channel.
Roku already has The Eoku Channel app for iPhone/iPad - which shares the same code platform (Swift) as Apple TV apps.
Should be minimal effort to adapt that Apple app for the big screen.
Does it let you watch video directly, or is it mainly a type of remote control.
My bad, it’s more/less a browse and remote control app.
Still, I’d think a company as big as Roku could extend their programming into a full-blown Channel app.
