How to watch Sky Cinema Movies ( through NOW TV app) on a Roku on a SKY Glass TV - solution

Hi - hope this is useful.  I recently cancelled my sky subscription and moved over to using a Roku 4K streaming stick with a premium subscription for Now TV and some other paid streaming options which has cut my monthly bill in half!  My Roku is plugged into a 65inch Sky Glass. One issue I found - every app worked with the exception of  NOW Cinema  - I got sound and captions on a movie, but just a green screen.

I then spoke to NOW technical support who said  - you cannot watch NOW cinema on a Sky Glass ( presumably this is sky's way to keep people locked into a sky cinema and keep them in the Glass Eco system).  I spoke to Roku technical support who also confirmed there is an issue with this particular channel with a Roku Device and Sky Glass TV's.

Solution:

Not to be defeated I starting playing with settings with the Roku, and I have found by turning off Auto Resolution and lowering the resolution to 1080p on the Roku device, movies play just fine.  I hope that Roku can come up with a better software fix than that so that I can keep my Roku in auto , but in the meantime hopefully this work around helps someone #skyglass #nowcinema
