Great Courses Plus App Crashes, will not launch

I just purchased The Great Courses Plus today and the first time I launched it, the channel opened, displayed a logo, then immediately closed. I could not remove this app in Roku. I tried rebooting Roku and made sure all software was up to date. This was during the trial period, so it looks like I'll be cancelling if this is not fixed.

    Hi, Terrynpeg.

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community!

We understand how frustrating it can be when trying to stream on a channel but having a playback issue. We get it and want to help you sort this out.

If you have already canceled your subscription to the app, try the steps below and see if that resolves the issue:

    1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
    2. Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
    3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

If the app playback issue persists, you may refer your concern directly to Great Courses App Plus support for further assistance.

You may also visit this support article: Issues playing content on your Roku device.

We are hoping that everything will be sorted out for you soon.

    Best of luck,
    Emman

When I follow the steps given and click the star (*) button, "Remove app" is not an option - it is the only app on Roku that does not have this option (I see Move app, Move app to top, Manage subscription, Check for updates, and Close). So I can't even remove the app at this point. I sent an email to Great Courses Plus but have not heard back.

Thanks for keeping us posted, Terrynpeg!

You may also try these steps here:

        • Try removing the app using the Roku Mobile App, rebooting your Roku device, and reinstalling the app through the mobile app again.

Let us know if that fixes the issue.

        Thanks,
        Emman
