BritBox suddenly says 'Not available in my country', but I'm based in the US

I was watching BritBox on Roku and it suddenly stopped working.  When I tried to load it again, it had logged me out.  I entered my password then I got the message that BritBox is not currently available in your country.  I live in the USA.  It was available an hour ago, and last year and the year before that.  I can load BritBox on my computer, just not on Roku.  I removed BritBox, updated Roku, added BritBox back and it still won't work.

    BritBox just sent me this message:

     

    I highly appreciate your patience on this. BritBox is currently experiencing a service disruption. When signing in, searching or playing shows, you'll see an error message or unexpected behavior, such as being signed out. We're working as fast as we can to restore your service, and we're sorry for the interruption. As of the moment, we have already noted some concerns that does have the same issue. We are already partnering with our technical team and we will get back to you the soonest. We are already working on with the team regarding the issue and we will send you an email correspondence once the issue is resolved. Thank you for reaching our and I hope we have it sorted out the soonest. Stay safe and take care always.

  • Having the same problem. Sometimes it shows up for a few seconds, then drops and when we try to reload it says not available in your country. (USA) All other channels are working fine. We also found it working on Amazon. 

  • I'm  having the same problem.  Is the issue only on roku?

      Same problem.  I have a Roku 3.  Britbox is working on my iPad.  My dad’s newer Roku is not having the problem (he lives in the same town, has a newer Roku device)

  • It’s August I’m in US and it’s doing this again anyone else having issues with Britbox?

      I just finished watching a show on BritBox, went to the Roku Home Screen, and the tried to launch BritBox again and got this message. Rebooting the Roku does not work for me.

      Doing it to me in MN, USA.  I tried removing app, rebooting, reinstalling app and it still gives me the message.

  • Hi,

    Is anyone having an issue with their Roku and britbox?  Until today, I could watch britbox (I am a subscriber) but not is say, "britbox is not available in your country".  Is this true?  Is this a Roku issue or a britbox issue?

  • All of a sudden tonight Britbox stops working and tells me that it is not available in my country,,  I have had a subscription ato this channel for years without issues.  What is going on?  I'll remove the channel and reinstall.  If it does not resolve the issue, i will suspend my subscription.  Anybody else dealing with this?

  • I've got a Roku device that is throw up this this error message and "Something Went Wrong".  If I watch BritBox on the same LAN connection via web browser or AppleTV there is no issue.  What's going on?

    I am using:

    BritBox v 3.0 build 658

    Ruku software version 11.5.0 build 4312-48

      Welcome to the Roku Community!

      Does the issue only occur on BritBox or across other channels installed on your Roku device?

      Have you tried removing the affected channel BritBox and then re-install again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.

        Attached, are the two messages that appears when I attempt to view a title.  However, the "Watch Live" button is unaffected.  I first noticed this issue durning the Christmas holiday.

         

        NO, I do not use a VPN.  

        NO, this issue does not appears with other web browsers and other devices (such as AppleTV) on the same LAN and WiFi access point.

        YES, the problem is limited to this app: BritBox

        YES, I have attempted a system restart

        YES, the problem appears only to affects Roku devices

        YES I have attempted to remove and reinstall the BritBox app.
