I've even done a factory reset. So everything is brand new. Still the same frustration.
- Btr8172 months agoNewbie
Same here, has happened through multiple resets, app deletions/re-installs etc.
This is 100% a bug, not an isolated incident. That said it seems to be isolated to Paramount+; I’ve never had the issue w other streaming apps on Roku.

Same all my apps work fine except for paramountplus. It's really irritating.

Thanks for reporting this, PJLEEDS!
Looks like you're also having an issue with the fast-forward feature on Paramount+, and we're here to help out.
Could you share the exact behavior of the issue so we can take a closer look at it?
We look forward to hearing from you!

Subscription: Paramount Plus Limited Commercials
Device: TCL 55S403, Hardware Id: 7105S, Software version 14.5, wired to the LAN
App Version: 9.8 build 20250403
Behavior: As others have mentioned, hitting the "Skip Recap" button sends you back to the introductory commercial.
Trying to back up a few seconds sends you back to the introductory commercial
FF from the beginning of the recap to where you tried to back up also sends you back to the introductory commercial.
Pause and resume seems to work.

I have Paramount+/Showtime and watch on a Roku TV. Despite the claim of no ads, some shows begin with a promotional video advertising another show on Paramount+. This cannot be skipped, which is annoying enough, but something else has been occurring which is very irritating. After watching the promotional video, if I attempt to move forward or backward using the navigation key, it will jump back to the beginning and force me to watch the promotional video in its entirety, again. At that point I can't even navigate to where I was because it keeps forcing me to the beginning. The one, apparent, workaround I have found is to exit the show I'm watching and then reenter. At that point, it doesn't show the promotional video and I can navigate without issue.
I don't know how to predict when these promotional videos will appear and haven't enough data points to identify other possible workarounds or even if my workaround works consistently but this has occurred several times and I hoped that by reporting it someone might look for and fix the issue.

If you have your subscription thru roku you should know that stupidly you can't remove it and reinstall it. Roku's genius move. That is why I had to do a factory reset.

I have several Roku Ultras...and they have all begun exhibiting a really, really annoying behavior: if you try to fast forward, from any point in a show to any other point, you are returned to the start of the show.
Meaning the fast forward function is utter garbage.
Sometimes this problem can be resolved -- temporarily! -- by doing a software update or restarting the device. But it always reappears.
I'm not sure if this is streaming source specific or not. It seems to show up most frequently with Paramount Plus and Hulu, but I've seen it on most of the other streaming sources I use.
It sure would be nice if Roku could be bothered to fix this bug. Or at least stop selling remotes with fast forward buttons.

Seeing same problem! Random shows too. I tried factory reset. It fixed it for about two hours then happened again.

sorry to hear it's affecting others, but glad it's not just me and my setup.
I'll try system restart/reset and see if it helps.
What an annoying bug!

Paramount Plus app on my Roku is jacked. If I try to skip a recap (or FF manually) it restarts the video at the beginning of the recap.
Only fix I've found is to restart the Roku device. This works temporarily, but often I have to repeat this again - if I pause too long between videos or use a different app. I'm not exactly sure what triggers it.
I WOULD try to uninstall and reinstall the P+ app, but for some moronic reason you have to unsubscribe from the service to be able to remove the app.
This is ridiculous and is not the case for other aps, like Netflix, for example.
Dors anyone know of a fix for either (or both) problem(s)?
Has Roku ever offered an explanation why they won't allow you to remove this app without first unsubbing?
Meh, maybe it's just time to stop using Roku ...

I have this exact problem on all my Roku devices. It makes the app almost unusual. The restart of the episode occurs whenever I try to skip intro, or fast forward, or rewind, or hit the back circle/arrow. It’s maddening. I’m going to go to the mattresses with support tomorrow. I’m at wits end. I’ve reinstalled, reset, rebooted and done everything I can imagine.

Do get aggravated, it won't do you any good. I'm canceling paramount. I'm very confident that will solve all my issues.

I have a TCL Roku 32” which is experiencing fast forward function sending shows back to the beginning. It only happens with Paramount+. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have factory reset the entire tv. The update on both the tv and app are the newest versions.
My TCL Roku 65” does not have this issue. Please advise…

Why can't I rewind or fast forward on Paramount + without it taking me back to the beginning? I'm using a roku TV. This doesn't happen on my other tvs with the roku streaming stick.

When I use the skip back button to hear conversation I missed, instead of the closed captioning showing me the words it starts the show over from the beginning of the show. And if you try to fast forward back to where you were it restarts from the beginning. I have made sure the Roku and Paramount + was updated. Any fix for this?

Problems with Paramount+ have been reported several times. Unfortunately, no fix in sight.

Just received an update to the Paramount+ App. Version 9.9 Build 20250505 and it seems to have been fixed. I tried it on 5 different shows and FF, Rewind and Skip Intro all worked. Keeping my fingers crossed it is a real fix for everyone.
