The main issue with Livestream and Roku Direct Publisher channel is that your livestream needs to be active (streaming/broadcasting) when Roku server is ingesting your content feed (every 24h), otherwise your livestream will be rejected by the Roku server. Thats why we came up with an RTMP Solution for Livestream for our OTTfeed clients, our RTMP server is broadcasting whenever the client is not, this way when Roku server is ingesting the content feed the livestream is always active. Here is a link to a short video showing how it works on your Roku Direct Publisher Channel: https://vimeo.com/719113901 For more info, go to https://ottfeed.com/pricing Cheers21KViews0likes1CommentSample Direct Publisher Feed
Many of you are starting to try out the workflow for creating a Direct Publisher channel. The core requirement is that you have a well formed MRSS or JSON feed that lists all your content. To start the channel creation flow, go to https://developer.roku.com/publish/channel-tutorial/channel-tutorial-index and follow the steps. In addition, you can use this sample feed to preview a channel: https://api.myjson.com/bins/4tu28 Hope this helps!21KViews0likes37CommentsSales Activity page with channel earnings data will not load, will not display

I was told to add in adbreaks to insert the ad break line after the duration line in each episode. Also for some reason it is not displaying in the channel properly, they assured me they are working on it.17KViews0likes21CommentsFeed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)
Hi, Thank you very much for welcoming me here. My apologies but this is a newbie question and really need expert's help. I created a channel and added all necessary info and images. Categories were selected on the Roku Developer option. Everything is checked on the Feed Status and no errors when checking the Feed. We also used all possible validators online and json is valid. My issue is on Roku device, it shows the splash page, then it seems to load (progress circle), then that disappears, and nothing else, it stays blank. Feed URL: https://account.drtestimonial.com/channel/15.json Thumbnails/Videos do not load, it stays blank. Although Roku Developer accepted the feed without error and it published it. Kindly asking for expert's advice if there is something missing on our feed, or an error, or anything. Also, is it okay to use AWS S3 for video hosting and use the Youtube image like I did on the feed? Any opinion, suggestion, correction, anything... is highly highly appreciated!!! Thanks, Paul14KViews1like41CommentsGenerate Direct Publisher JSON feeds with Wordpress
Download on the WordPress plugin repository (100% Free Plugin) UPDATED v1.3.1: NEW: Updated Series system NEW: Amazon Fire App Builder JSON feeds UPDATED: Closed Caption Support UPDATED: UI to be more friendly FIXED: Error with TV Specials not displaying in some cases Coming in 1.4 - MAJOR update to the HTML5 player including Embedding, Better VAST support and updates to the HLS engine. I've spent the last few months quietly getting this plugin together. It is currently awaiting approval from WordPress, but I wanted to post it here so I could get some qualified feedback. A few notes: Install the plugin like any other WordPress plugin It currently only works with Movies and Short Form Video content. I will be adding support for more in the upcoming versions. Now works with Short-form Videos, Series and TV Specials. Instructions can be found in WP Smart TV > Settings > Help Documents > View All Documentation This does not work with YouTube videos, and no I can't add support for it. It's against their T.O.S. Tested with Vimeo Pro and Amazon S3/CloudFront. Should work with most video hosting options WP-Engine (and possibly other hosts) will sometimes block images from the Roku DP system. Enable Jetpack and turn on "Speed up images and photos" or disable "Mod Security" in Apache. I'll update this post when it is in the WordPress plugin director and I will answer any questions in this thread14KViews0likes31CommentsGetting started
