Think I will look for the direct customer service phone # they provided last time I complained about ads on the home screen. So I have on one hand the same problem you describe: offensive ad on my home screen which just re-appears as soon as I remove it, until being told I have "used up" all my allotted times to 'remove' ads for the day. Even more often, the function simply fails altogether.... as today when a Walmart ad filled the right half of my screen; I am vehemently anti-Walmart and quickly hit the asterisk button to remove it and.... nothing happened. Same thing yesterday when some garbage reality show ad was on my screen... pressing the button did nothing. Guess I should send this exact commentary to the Roku authorities but am clueless about basic "copy/paste" type things Re: Remove 'On Now" row from home screen? After trying to express this grievance via their customer service chat (malfunctioned-- could not 'send' my replies), I called the phone number they then provided. Tried to make the agent aware that this 'On Now' crud is an awful eyesore cluttering my home page and is clearly not wanted by the "community". He consulted with a supervisor, then claimed Roku had not heard this complaint before but "not to worry", as the 'On Now' row would not be permanent; quite evasive as to when it would be removed. Nearly two weeks later, I recoil at still seeing that corporate junk littering my home screen every time I access Roku, with no option to hide/delete it. They may need more feedback from us. Re: Remove 'On Now" row from home screen? OK, this was the 2nd post in the last 24 hours that got my hopes up but the "On Now" row remains at the top of my home screen like a pile of excrement; see my recent post providing the customer service phone # that folks should call en masse. Re: Remove 'On Now" row from home screen? Just wondering how you managed to chat? I tried that just now in regard to this "on now" B S but just as last time I tried to chat with customer service (only option), there was no way to send my replies. I clicked on a 'send' icon after my initial question but after that would type my reply in the box then see no 'send button' or anything to click on to send it, while the agent sputtered on asking "Are you still there??" before ending the "chat". At least she sent a follow-up email, but that provided me with an 800 phone number to call, upon which the recording of course told me they can not help with a question of this nature--- Call Terminated. Re: Remove 'On Now" row from home screen? To clarify the problem: I have spent the time to customize my Roku home page to be simple and uncluttered, thus 'easy on the eye". This unwanted/un-asked for "on now" row is CLUTTER. To add insult to injury, the actual shows being pushed are **bleep** that I would never watch... (Good Morning America live stream????) Re: "move channel" function stopped working Hello This issue began in the days prior to my post; so it suddenly started around this past April, having always worked fine until then. A re-start does not seem to have any effect. The issue remains as described: I use the 'move channel' arrows to position the channel where I want it but frequently find it has moved to another random spot next time I return to the home page. I have the Roku streaming stick 3600RW. I see no "OS version" listed on the settings page you mentioned; if you are referring to software version, that is 12.0.0 build 4184-24. Thanks, jackstraw65 Re: "move channel" function stopped working Hi zenish Just found your message as I have not really been on the computer for a few days. Good to know someone else has this same issue. "move channel" function stopped working Has anyone else found that the "move channel" feature suddenly fails to work recently? I rely heavily on this to organize my channels and it has worked fine until a couple weeks ago; now after moving and "installing" a channel tile to the desired spot, it refuses to "stay put". The very next time I access home screen, the channel has moved to a previous/random spot. Worse with channel tiles near the end/bottom. Re: Replacement of simple remote for streaming stick Yeah, finally had to buy the voice remote to control my 3600 stick due to the still-unexplained unavailability of the replacement for the remote that came with my streaming stick. Even though it does control the .3600 stick, I had no desire to pay for uneeded extra features. The volume and on/off buttons are just in the way, considering I still have to alternate with the TV remote anyway to change input to live antenna TV and change channels, etc. Re: Replacement of simple remote for streaming stick Thanks for the reply but I was referring to the "simple" remote that came with my streaming stick, regardless of multi-directional capacity. No use for the pricier one with voice, TV controls, etc. Just want to locate the model (or equivalent) that came in the box with my stick. Model #RC 120
