It depends on the circumstances. If you are at a hotel, for instance, Roku can usually detect that the network requests a response page to connect, which is something many hotels do. If that's what is going on, then look at the instructions on the How to use Hotel and Dorm Connect to connect to the internet page.
Note that some free hotspots work the same way as hotels, so look at the instructions on that page.
If you're talking about visiting someone's home Internet, that usually doesn't happen, so if that's the case, more details
