Ceiling mount for outdoor camera

1. Purchased this "product" with high hopes  for a ceiling mount.

2. The quick start guide has the camera positioned in the upside down position.

3. Later in community forum I find there is a magnetic base on the other end.

Not as secure as the grovved end for a wall mount.

4. Pairing the base station apparently requires you to keep it permanently connected.

Seriously? What happened to wireless and who was the Einstein engineer who

thought of this product?  I could have done a better job designing not as an engineer.

5.  This piece of junk is going back to where it was purchased for all the wasted effort

      and money spent on it.

Re: Ceiling mount for outdoor camera

You're kind of all over the map.  I'm not clear what the magnetic base has to do with not being able to mount it to the ceiling.  Mount the base to the ceiling and the camera sticks magnetically to the base, no?

The base station is required for the camera - the camera connects to the base station and the base station connects to your network.  The connection from the camera to the base station is obviously wireless and the connection from the base station to your network can be either wired or wireless (Wi-Fi).
