Wow. I got a google tv hisense and ditched it because google tv is so slow. got a hisense roku because i heard its faster but i didnt even THINK that there would be no browser... this is ridiculous. i got the tv today and if i dont find a work around i'll return it too lol
Certainly Roku's FAILURE to have the vision to include an INTERNET WEB BROWSER in the 21st century is only one of the reasons their stock is tanking. I had 6 Roku TVs in my house. I am moving and my new house will have ZERO ROKU TV's for this one reason!!!!!
NOBODY WANTS GOOGLE IN THEIR HOUSE!
GET IT TOGETHER ROKU!!!
Even [some] Blu-ray smart players have an internet browser, but not you guys?
God help me, my store won't sell anything else and I need a TV browser!
Very, very weak. This is 2024, guys. Put a **bleep** browser in your TV, or watch your precious market share drop even more than it has. Then you get to answer to your shareholders on why they're losing money. It's because of lame decisions like this.
I recommended Roku to my friends but Roku has restrictions to open blowing which is the fatal error. And weak remote. I am considering to buy smart tv without Roku. Roku was good but not any more.
I too support the need of a web browser. Bring Mozilla in to develop Firefox for Roku.
What a weak and insulting response.
The reason why I have a Roku TV was because it was going to serve as a device that allowed me to view the Web without being close to a screen.
The fact that Roku TV doesn't have a Web Browser is very annoying. Where I am, the only cheap option for a TV, and the ones that are only on display are your TV's. If I was a millionaire, I could buy a better TV, and have a web browser.
The only reason I don't use my Smart Blu-ray Player that DOES have a Web Browser is due to age, and lack of support. I had to use stupid, but alternative, ways to get a Web Browser on my TV, using my Ubuntu-Book
Roku, hear us. We want a Browser built into your smart devices, and that's not hard to develop. Even a simple Browser by Opera would do the job for many of us.
Please, Give Us A Web Browser!
Get a cheap, Walmart ONN Google TV device. Connect it to your TV. Then customize with all the Android-based stuff you want. You can even add a mouse and keyboard.
As an Android Expert, I didn't even think of that. Any Android that supports HDMI broadcasting and side loading/back porting will get you something 5x better than what a Roku TV can do.
If only Roku could let us do something similar...
Maybe add Android Emulation, even...
