Bruh, we all know it's because you want to use pirated streams. Just say that. 😂😂

Bruh. We know YOU want to use it for pirated streams. Me (and others) want to use the browser for other things you didn't think about.

Are you saying to add this Google device to the Roku TV? I watch a lot of Patreon videos for classes. I can cast most of them but the livestreams are through Vimeo and won’t play. It’s a real bummer watching on an iPad. I’m kind of miffed at Roku and at Patreon. I’m really not worried about AI taking over if these guys are developing it. I’m willing to go Android if it will work.

Re: Really need a web browser -- HOW ABOUT A LOCAL LAN ONLY WEB BROWSER????

Jump to solution

How about releasing a browser that only browses the local lan?

I am currently running a home assistant server inside my house, and the unnecessary restrictions on web browsers on the Roku platform is a real burden, as I'd like to keep my TV on the Roku platform HDMI input as the other HDMI inputs are all taken up and I can't stick a Chromecast or Android stick / box in order to run a simple web browser and access my own network.

Home assistant and other software running inside the house should be accessible on our TVs through Roku, and not blocked or limited for whatever reason.

There's no risk of watching pirated streams if it's limited to the lan that the Roku is on

It's supposed to be a smart TV for God's sake! On my previous (android) smart tv, I connected a wireless keyboard and a mouse; and installed a Chrome browser and WPS office, and could use it just like a computer! And guess what, I tried to play videos from a USB flash drive, but couldn't play any because this useless Roku rubbish does not play mpg files!! That's bull**bleep**
