How to display custom pictures for each individual video files when listed on Roku Media player USB drive instead of the same generic icon for all of my video files?
Interesting question.
So youre suggesting to make the icon more useful by displaying a
snapshot of whatever the Movie or Video is.
I think thats an excellent Feature request.
add 16:9 ratio pics with the same name as the filename. Example. MOVIE.mp4 MOVIE.jpg.
For FOLDER thumbnails you use 16:9 ratio image named FOLDER.jpg
I'm trying to figure if you can add a thumbnail for a playlist.m3u file
Good Job!
It would be nice if the developers wrote a script to automate this.
Having trouble setting folder icons images in roku media player. They just do not show up no matter what I try.
Well it isnt really important. I use the RMP app occasionally and it is what it is.
It works fine for what it is with supported codecs. Everything and anything can be better....
This is already possible. Save a picture file as the same name as the video file. Must be .jpg format and also must be in the same folder as the video file.
Ben, how do you then get the image to show for the folder as well? Not just on top of the video?
You can't put a picture over a folder. There is no thumbnail coding for that currently. Only files inside the folder.
Unless I’m missing something folder.jpg (where name is exactly that, not replacing name of folder like with movie method) does exactly what person is asking.
I think what frustrates me is I use a 3rd party app (tag editor) to put the exact picture I want displayed as a Thumbnail on my videos. They look fine in Windows Explorer, but do not display in the ROKU Media Player. I just want it to display what I've already added as the cover.
