I'd like to strongly suggest a new ROKU that takes the form of an app for Meta Quest 2/pro headsets and/or steam. You could make a few rooms/environments with a high resolution display and full spatial audio to support appropriate codecs and provide a Roku interface so people can load all the streaming apps without needing to wait for vendors to port their various apps, at differing quality, to VR. Netflix for instance has a very poor app with only one environment option and very low resolution rather than 4k with dolby vision in VR. This should allow hosting so the family can still all join and watch together in a shared space.
In addition to making a few options a unity library could be provided to let people make and trade their own spaces and that will allow them to place a Roku screen in those spaces.
