On the original iteration of the Roku 3, the remote came with a purple wrist strap, presumably as a competitor to the Nintendo Wii. While I don't use my Roku 3 for games, having the wrist strap is useful.
For people with mobility limitations, the wrist strap prevents people from dropping the remote. If a user has back problems, this is a godsend. No need to bend down to pick up the remote if it's never dropped.
If you do not wish to bring back the wrist strap for cost reasons, at least put a small plastic ring on the bottom of the remote so users can purchase a lanyard if they wish. Maybe offer purple, Roku-braided lanyards in the store as an accessory.

Would much prefer the original.
