I would love it if Roku would combine its Ultra streaming box with a NextGen TV tuner. This would allow me to get a high quality over-the-air signal for my local channels and steam everything else without having to switch TV inputs or have multiple remotes/boxes.

Many NextGen stations are encrypting their signals. Currently, the only decryption keys authorized are part of the Google/Android ecosystem. Roku is NOT based on Android.
Yet another reason why supposedly free over-the-air signals should NOT be encrypted. Station owners are trying to force an early termination of ATSC 1.0 broadcasts so that they can put in encryption as part of the move to NextGen, a first step to charging a subscription for OTA TV. They claim they have piracy concerns, which is a lie. It's actually a money-grab.
