Solving playback issues

Same issue here. Nothing from the suggested steps here worked. Goes onto black screen when an advertisement is being resized to show the qr code. Coming out of the advertisement the playback is black screen. Switching a different resolution helps until another advertisement.

grey screen you tube happened for first time restart doesn’t work and app up to date. No other problems with my Roku and other apps noted.

what do you suggest I do?

You guys still haven’t given a real  solution this issue after almost a year. I just purchased this Roku device and it’s already malfunctioning as soon as I take it out of the box. The screen goes completely black whenever I try to use apps like Netflix or YouTube. This will be the LAST Roku device I ever purchase since you people act like unable to provide a simple solution to a very common problem that most people seem to be having with their Roku devices. These devices are low quality & the customer support quality is even lower than that!

To assist us in looking closely into this, please provide the following information below:

• Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
• Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID)
• Channel build version (Highlight the app from the Home Screen and press the Star * Button)
