Tubi stuck on loading screen

Tubi channel is stuck on loading screen.  The tubi splash screen appears then it goes blank with the loading icon spinning for a minute or so then goes back to the tubi splash screen and so on, it is stuck in that loop forever (tried letting it go for over 20 minutes...)

I can play videos from other channels (Roku channel, amazon prime etc), i have tried uninstalling the channel, rebooting my Roku and re-installing the channel, same issue.

I checked to make sure all updates are installed and that my Roku is up to date.

I don't know where to go from there to get it working....

    Thanks for the post.

If the issue remains unresolved, I'd recommend reaching out to Tubi directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist. If other channels are working correctly, and you only experience this issue on the Tubi channel (app), that is likely an indication that the issue lies within that particular channel. In these cases, the channel provider will need to investigate the issue in order to help resolve it.

  • Hey man, don’t know if you’re still facing this issue but for others I encountered this issue as well and it ended up being my dedicated ad blocker (Pihole ).  Whitelisting  2 domains Tubi uses that was being blocked fixed it.

You called it, thanks so much! Means that I have to use Cloudflare DNS instead of NextDNS. Both Tubi and the CW apps were blocked by NextDNS. Unfortunately, most streaming boxes don’t seem capable of setting their own DNS provider...too bad.

If I can figure out which advertising domains are being used by the CW and Tubi apps, though, I can white-list them with NextDNS, and go back to using that. A research project for me, I guess *smile*.

Please list the two domains that you needed to whitelist to allow Tubi app to work with your Pihole.

Also, if you have the same information, the ad domains that need to be whitelisted, for the CW app, that would be doubly helpful.

Would really appreciate it, since NextDNS has the same behavior as your Pihole, blocks the Tubi and CW apps due to blocking the ad domains.

MrDoh Sure thing.  It actually ended up being 4 (note Tubi can change this anytime so just something to be aware of):

        popper-engine.production-public.tubi.io
        uapi.adrise.tv
        license.adrise.tv
        s.adrise.tv

You didnt mention your Model number.

If youre using a MicroSD flash memory yank it out and try updating.

      Settings/System/system update.

You can also try removing Tubi and reinstalling it.

Having the same problem with a Roku Ultra (2018-ish) and a Samsung TV. I did "reach out" to Tubi via their support, and have had no response in a couple of weeks now. Since Tubi costs nothing, I guess that you get what you pay for, nothing :-). My Roku has the latest updates, Tubi has whatever updates that app has for the Roku platform, and my internet is fast and reliable. And the Roku has no problems with any other apps that I use.

Got no idea how to fix this, pretty stupid, really. I've tried all sorts of things, uninstalling and re-installing the Tubi app, etc. I've even removed the Tubi app, restarted my Roku, and re-installed the Tubi app. Always does this. I guess I'm done with Tubi on that TV. The Android TV Tubi app does work fine on the NVIDIA Shield, though, so I'm not totally out of luck with it. Couldn't afford to put an NVIDIA Shield on all of our TV's, though :-), especially just to get content from a free app.

Troubleshooting on a Roku seems a bit thin, the OS is much more opaque than Android TV is. On the Shield I can force stop an app, flush storage and caches, and, in general, have more debugging options.

Not a good response as I have TWO ROKU's that when left on YouTubeTV main screen for a bit will automatically restart on TUBI! I don't like TUBI nor do I even want it on my TV!  This is a ROKU issue.

        Hi Indyraz

Thanks for posting here in the Community.

For clarification, does your Roku device automatically launches the Tubi channel even though you are accessing a different app? Please provide us as well with the troubleshooting you've tried, so we know what steps we should take next.

We look forward to your response.

        All the best,
        Kariza

      Hi Babysister

Thanks for posting here in the Community.

Does the issue only occur on TubiTV or across other channels installed on your Roku device? Do you receive an error code or message?

Please let us know. We'd like to know more about how we can help.

      All the best,
      Kariza

I reinstalled tubi per instructions posted here exactly ......

And i have watched tu i for past 3 years No problems now All of sudden Click on tubi it Opens goes to initial screen Does like a restart 10 seconds later but remai as on initial screen 30 seconds after it kicks out to main roku menu 😒🙁 No Issues Anywhere else but Tubi

  • this only happens on my samsung tv with fire stick. it will still open tubi if i click on a movie or tv series from the fire stick home page. then i can go any place in the tubi app. if i leave tubi and go back to firestick home page the app will not open again but i can still get back in from the firestick home page if i scroll down to the tubi shows again and click on one. i have a roku tv and it still works when i click the app from my fire stick. very strange.

  • I fixed mine.  I have an older dumb TV.  Tubi was the only app to get stuck in a loop. Other new Roku still didn’t work. Finally changed out for the older Roku. It works perfectly now.
Thinking something got updated through Tubi that the TV can’t handle.
    Hope it helps.
