Roku Check Device Power on Samsung 90D

I had used multiple HDMI cables in multiple HDMI ports on my Samsung 90D TV it is a brand new 2024 edition TV. I have unplugged and plugged it in to different outlets as well.

It keeps saying "Check Device Power" on my tv, it is showing the power light on.

Sometimes it will work for a short time then it will say this message sometimes it won't work at all.

I tried the device on a different tv now it is doing the same thing, different HDMI ports and different cables as well.

MY old Roku 4670X works just fine on this same TV in the same HDMI ports with the same cables.

HDMI ports do not supply power.  You don't say what model your "problem" Roku is,  If it is one that is powered by a USB connection, try plugging it into house power using a USB power converter instead of a USB port on your TV.  (USB ports on some TVs d4ont supply enough power to reliably drive a Roku.)  If your Roku didn't come with a USB converter, you may have one around from another device, just make sure the fine print on it says it outputs at least 1 amp.

Re: Roku Check Device Power on Samsung 90D

@Aser-

There have been a variety of problems reported here with the Ultra 4850, often referred to as "Ultra (2024)".  I'm supposed to receive an Ultra 4850 shortly but cannot currently check into any of the reported problems.

Prior Ultra models have their own external 12 volt power supplies and are not powered via 5 volt USB connections.  I'm assuming the 4850 is the same.

@makaiguy

Should I return it as defective?

If it were mine, I think I'd exchange it for another.  I'm guessing the power supply has a problem
