Also having same issue with Tablo Live Television & Recordings not playing back on one (1) of my two (2) televisions. It works fine on my Sony Bravia, but not on my AOC Envision. I’ve tried the “work around” and I can now get the video, but still NO audio. I have the same Roku Express 4K+ on both televisions and have tried switching them between televisions, still no audio on the AOC Envision. So it is has something to do with certain models of televisions. IT worked fine before the 14.0 update.
It also broke my local cable app I use...First its started with unable to play video from the app, then after the changes were made to the audio settings, I could get video but no audio. Seems to be a bigger issue.
Day 11 of no sound on OTA channels when using Tablo with Roku on a Samsung TV. This level of customer service is unacceptable with the volume of people experiencing this issue. Restore the prior version of the software and figure out the problem with the new version before releasing it.
The Roku app's Headphone Mode allows users to listen to Roku's audio through headphones or bluetooth speakers connected to their mobile device. This feature bypasses the tv sound, so may resolve the current short term issue of having Roku / Tablo video but not audio!
(I use it to listen to TV without disturbing my wife! The Roku App on my Samsung Android phone connects to the Roku and forwards the audio to my hearing aids via Bluetooth!)
Are you saying you do NOT get sound (i.e you have the problem), but you can get around it by using headphones? (the way you've written it makes it sound like you are just speculating)
2) What Roku device are you using?
Note: Most users do not have devices that support headphones.
