F… U… Roku. If I see another loud ad playing when I turn my Rokus on, waking up everyone before I can mute it, I’m switching to Apple. Stupid decisionmaking on Roku’s part.

5 rokus in this house and I will absolutely change tech if I continue to get auto play ads before  I can use the hardware I've purchased.  I'll disconnect tvs from internet and replace the boxes.  This is bs.

I paid good money for a Roku device because it did not have intrusive video ads that autoplay and prevent use of the costly device. How can I turn these off?

Also came to say that this is terrible!!! These Rokus are going in the trash if it doesn’t stop.

It seems that as soon as roku realizes people do not want them dictating what they watch (n.b.: unsolicited channels, pay subscription and otherwise, added to home screen), they come up with a new way to bombard us with annoying, unwanted, noisy nonsense.
