How to synchronize Home menu apps across multiple Roku devices?

How can I synchronize/personalize the Home menu layouts across the multiple Roku devices I have on a single account? I have seen this reference under what I can do with a Roku account, but have yet to figure out how to do so, when signed in to my account online or on the mobile app.

  • Link, synchronize, and personalize all your Roku devices

I would expect that this means I can have the same menu selection of apps synchronized across multiple Roku devices, and (hopefully) signed in to an app across the devices. I have found where I can move an app on the Home menu individually for a single device, but I prefer to manage that once for consistency across devices.

Sorry, it's not possible.  Roku devices linked to the same Roku account will have the same apps installed, but they won't appear in the same order on the Home Screen.

Thank you. Related, if you are signed in to a streaming app on one device, does that carry over automatically to the other devices when on same Roku account? Or do you have to authenticate on each Roku device?

Re: How to synchronize Home menu apps across multiple Roku devices?

@KMMcD, it varies.  If you subscribe to anything through Roku the subscriptions are tied to the Roku account, so any devices linked to the same account will automatically have access to the same subscriptions.  It's about the only advantage I can think of for subscribing to anything through Roku, but most would still recommend bypassing third parties like Roku, Amazon, Apple, etc. and always subscribe directly with the provider.  For those direct subscriptions, some participate in something called "Single sign-on", but I couldn't tell you which ones and I don't know how it works exactly.  For other sign-ins where there's not necessarily a subscription involved (YouTube comes to mind), I believe you have to sign in on every device.  That's the easiest answer to give - you'll have to sign in on every device, but there are exceptions.
