Discovery+ Numerous Sign In Requests

All Roku devices in all rooms are requiring daily logins each time we try to watch anything on Discovery+. I already had previous issues with the app not letting me renew my subscription and not being able to sign in from other devices. So I had to start a new account under a different email to be able to pay for Discovery+. So now each time it kicks me out on my Rokus, I can’t even use my auto saved email address and I have to type in the entire email address each time. It won’t be worth it to continue paying for the app if it’s going to be this burdensome to use.

Re: Discovery+ Numerous Sign In Requests

@CrazyDaizy99-

As far as I can tell, this is something screwed up at Discovery's end  not Roku's.   This is what worked for me:

Remove/reinstall procedure:

  1. Highlight Discovery+ on home screen.

  2. Press * key on the Roku remote and choose Remove channel option.

    [Note: If this channel is one for which you have a paid subscription through Roku, there will be a "Manage subscription" option instead of a "Remove channel" option. You can click this and follow the prompts to cancel your subscription and prevent any more payments, but your subscription and channel access will continue until your subscription period runs out. Due to a programming decision by Roku, you will not be able to remove the channel app via the Roku interface until the subscription period runs out.

    Instead, try removing the channel via the official Roku remote app on an Android/iOS phone/tablet.

    At the bottom of the app's Home screen, click "Devices" and connect to one of them if not connected already. Click on "Search" at the bottom of the page and locate your channel. Click AND HOLD for a few seconds on the channel to be presented with options to Launch the channel on your Roku, or to Remove the channel. (A quick click will instead bring up the remote control functions.)

    This will remove the channel from your Roku account and allow you to reinstall it in the hope of fixing your current problem, but it will NOT cancel the paid subscription to that channel if there is one.
    ]

    This will remove the channel from your Roku account, and thus from ALL Rokus linked to that same Roku account.

  3. IMPORTANT- IF YOU SKIP THIS STEP YOU MAY NOT GET A CLEAN RE-INSTALL:
    Restart the Roku to clear its memory. Depending on your Roku model you'll find the System restart option under Settings > System > Power or if you have no Power option, under Settings > System.

    [Note: For Roku TVs (i.e. ones with Roku capability built in) with "Fast TV start" enabled, turning the TV off/on just puts it in/out of a standby state and does not give you a full restart. Use the menu options listed above.]

  4. Reinstall the channel to your Roku account via the Roku Home page Streaming Channels menu option. This will install the channel on all Rokus linked to this Roku account.
  5. Now load Discovery+ and log in with your new email and password.

So far, at least, I have not needed to log in for subsequent sessions.
