Devices on Roku mobile app does not display "Apps on Roku" anymore

Jump to solution

It appears that the Roku mobile app has changed or is having an issue. When I select my device under “Devices”, it's bringing up the remote (the exact same screen when selecting “Remote”). It didn't used to do that. When users have issues with an app not displaying on the home menu on the TV, we’ve been able to go into the app and select Devices, (icon at bottom of screen) and then selecting "Apps on Roku". This is where we would find the ‘missing’ app so we could delete it.

This solution has worked for many people, (see “Re: YouTube app not on homescreen”) but now is no longer working.

Is this an issue with the app? Not sure why selecting both Remote and Devices brings up the remote. I've tried swiping the app closed and reopening it but no change. I have an iPhone 14.

Have noticed the same thing.

Now, click the "search" magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen and search for the channel.  Then proceed as before.

Yes, that works. I searched on YouTube and both came up. I can then select the one I want to remove, and another screen comes up with two options: Launch and Remove. Thanks!!

This is not a solution - it's a workaround for a broken feature.

There is no way I can manage my apps - like move them around etc without using the remote which is almost impossible. While I can use the search function to find an app to either "launch" or "delete" or "add" I would have to know what app I wanted prior to searching. There is no list or good way to find apps anymore. I would have to to go to a search engine to figure it out. What to OP was saying that the solution to the problem that is presented on the Roku Help doesn't work. You used to be able to click on the device and then manage the apps. Now it only goes to the remote.

Why does software keep getting worse? I swear it's on purpose.

I have removed any subscriptions that I have gotten through Roku. I am tired of wasting my own time.
