I'm curious as to why Direct player was completely rewritten from scratch, the sample player from years ago works perfectly, allows the use of publisher house xml files that can be changed on the fly without channel update and had zero limitations on number of categories, has category leafs and no limitations on number of videos in each category and/or leaf. Also if one video url went down it did not shut down the entire channel. It seems to me that it was pretty close to a perfect solution with the exception of the ridiculous publishing method (and I know thats the way almost all the video stream boxes do it, it's just not a smooth process).
Anyway, I'm not knocking the DP, it's agreat tool, it just seems like someone went to the trouble to reinvent the wheel and still trying to figure out how to make a perfect circle..
