I taught myself how to build a roku channel while hosting videos in Amazon S3 Bucket. However, every month I get high bills that vary and would like to use a company where it is the same amount each month. Is there somewhere that will give me a link just like Amazon S3 Bucket does? Thanks!
hi
depending on the traffic you need you can find quite a lot of offers , just do a google search for videos hosting. pcloud could be an option if you dont have a very big traffic. they start at 9 usd/ month ( or something like that)
Hi Aaron,
I am playing with pcloud as a service alternative for the moment.
Is there anything I need to do besides upload a video into the public folder and then get the link?
Roku seems to like these cloud files only some of the time at the moment. Other times the video doesn't load and it quickly crashes back to the menu. I'm starting with pretty forgiving files size and bitrate-wise.
Hi @VacationTV if you use the proper link and meta data it should work all the time . i never had any issue with them.
Aaron, are you using pCloud for HLS or MP4? Is it stable/possible to do both?
@VacationTV , I don't use them anymore ( i need way more bandwidth than they can provide at the reasonable price ) but i used them for MP4 videos only.
