I've never used the roSystemLog, so I can't answer that question, but if you telnet into port 8087, you can see output from the screensaver thread. You get the same debug tools there as in the main thread. You just have to wait the 5 minutes until the screensaver launches, unless it's a standalone screensaver, in which case you can launch it via "Preview" from the screensaver selection screen.
