I have a custom channel that accepts commands via roInput. Those commands don't seem to work if the Roku is idle and has gone into the screensaver. The channel is still active, I can query the running channel and it will show my channel plus screensaver. 

I need to be able to get it out of the screensaver from a phone app (the one that launched the channel). Is there a command I can do that with since roInput isn't working?

I guess I could send a key command but that seems like an ugly solution.

Might be your only choice. The screensaver runs in it's own thread, separate from the channel, and therefore blocks access while it's active.
