I've been working on adding subtitles (closed captioning) for our channel and can't quite seem to pick a subtitle color that looks good and is readable in every circumstance. I was wondering if there is a content meta-data attribute available or planned that would allow me to set a background color for subtitles? I think that would probably fix the issue for us.
Also, I was a little confused why the "SubtitleColor" attribute that I found in the simplevideoplayer example code isn't actually mentioned in the ComponentReference documentation? This was making me wonder if there are other undocumented attributes related to subtitles that might be helpful to know about.
I have updated the SDK docs to include the SubtitleColor metadata attribute. This is the only subtitle text color attribute available. There isn't anything for background text color.
I tried setting this attribute with Roku 1 (firmware 3.1) and it seems to have no effect, can you confirm that this feature is only for Roku 2 (firmware 4.8 ) ? If so please indicate that in the SDK documentation.
