Roku time servers 5 minutes fast...?

All of my Rokus seem to be running about 5 minutes fast, which is really giving me a headache working with EPG data. Curiously, a developer I talked to on the west coast has accurate times on his Rokus. Are there different time servers for different regions? If so, could someone at Roku please re-sync the east coast time server?

It's an extremely low-priority item, only deserving of a "general inquiry", whatever that is.

Since this has zero-impact on the unit to function (and thus is extremely low-priority), I admittedly haven't looked into it. I did send out a general inquiry about it tonight, however.

I will let you know what I find out.

The time differential should not have ANY impact on the player's functions, regardless. If you encounter an impact, let me know with the specifics.

My Roku time (on the West Coast) seems reasonably accurate, so it could be a regional issue.

Thanks for the link to that thread. I hadn't seen it previously, and I've now PM'd RokuShawnS with the specifics he's asked for.

Hmmm, i think people that deal with SSL certificates may have a bone to pick with RokuShawnS 8-)

E.g. "ad hoc" connection certificate with limited validity may get rejected. Kerberos allowing maximum clock skew of 5 minutes between hosts before failing connection attempts (meaning each host should be kept accurate within +/-2.5min). Security people being obsessed with "replay attack" possibilities when clocks are off (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/drnick ... stem-time/) etc.
