I am developing a new Video Streaming channel over roku, the player abruptly freezes and restarts when the underlying streams of the roVideoPlayer are changed. I should admit though I currently have slow internet speed , around 500 Kbps(yes, bits , not bytes), is it a problem with my player or it is just happening due to slow internet. I noted in one of the forums https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/101410-roku-2-xs-hard-crash-auto-reboot-frequently/ , the last commenter said it is due to internet spikes(though that was for roku 2xs, I have roku 3). Is that the problem ? or is the problem with the device ?

there are some known HLS issues similar to what you are describing with the initial release of 6.1 firmware. Go to settings, check for updates, see if you can get a newer firmware release. We've done a partial release of a newer firmware version, and we are waiting to see if any issues are reported on those devices before we finish rolling it out.

Also, make sure to set your bitrate to zero if you are not using a master playlist file.
