Roku channel for newspaper

I work for a daily newspaper in Ohio and suggested to management that they might look into creating a channel for the Roku. I am totally clueless when it comes to all of this but wanted to post and ask if people here thought that would be something for my paper to pursue. I figured with so many people buying Rokus that there had to be people in our area that used them and there probably were a lot of area people who have moved away that would be interested in what's going on back home. So if anyone has an opinion, good or bad, please let me know. I have four Rokus and think they are great and thought this might be a way to help the paper get more readership. Thanks.

Re: Roku channel for newspaper

Would it be a channel of local videos? I'm sure the Ohioan diaspora would probably appreciate it. I assume it would consist of local video? We have several local news channels that do this.

You would probably want to use Pre-roll ads to help monetize it, or charge a subscription though given that it would be a special interest channel, subscription based probably wouldn't get you much revenue.
