Roku Express = Roku TV?

In doing some performance analysis, I found that the new Roku Express is pretty speedy but lacking OpenGL flair such as the main Roku channel grid fading out at the bottom of the home screen.  Can Roku confirm that it's the same or similar platform as the 5000X Roku TVs?  It would be nice to not have to keep a Roku TV around for testing and use an Express instead.

Re: Roku Express = Roku TV?

Sorry, but the Express is a completely different platform from any previous product.

Re: Roku Express = Roku TV?

What we know is they have no OGLES and are single-core MIPS (which 5xxx is too, no?).
It is my gut feeling that Express #37xx is continuation of the Roku1/SE #2700 line.
Note i haven't taken a can opener onto one of them espressos, so this is speculation.

I wonder if it's different enough to warrant picking one up for testing, hmm...
