oki heres the issue, honestly... in testing here i have a 50mbit connection, flash playback of the same mp4 file from the same server, provides no issues, however the preloading of the mp4 on the roku system, is not adequate, it just doesnt provide enough of a buffer, does the HLS system function more effectively ? and is there a way to just make a larger piece of the 1080p preload before anything plays back, this would be enough to avoid any buffering for most users.
Ultimately i need to understand what determines the amount of data that is preloaded on a .mp4 single file it just seems that we should have the ability to set this to a larger amount for larger files or something of this nature to avoid buffering.
