Metadata?
Just finished with a module for Crestron control , all published commands from external control are working well.
I am trying to pull metadata from the box for text feedback ( content list, etc... ) , but am confined to GET commands on 8060.
Any thoughts?
TIA,
-S

Re: Metadata?
There is no way to get the content list etc... from the External Control Protocol. If you were a developer of the channel on the Roku and a corresponding app on iOS, you could have both apps get this information from your web server.
However, we haven't established standards for sharing this info in a generic way to publish over our ECP. So generic remote controls are currently out of luck for this level of deep integration.

Re: Metadata?
Thanks for the response Kevin!
This would be an extremely valuable feature for those of us that do AV integration with control systems/touchpanels.
We (Judco Electronics) are AV system designers, and Crestron programmers. (CAIP)
We are looking to this box to eventually replace Kaleidescape or similar content delivery systems that price in the tens of thousands.
If, in your next rev, it is possible to globally scrape meta - this would be huge!
Personally, Roku is my new favorite box, and I have had a great time integrating it so far.
Keep up the great work!!
