How to tell if subtitles failed to load
Is there any way of programmatically telling whether or not the side loaded subtitles have successfully loaded?
I'd like to know this so I can hide a subtitles button if I can not load them.
I can see that the default video captions dialog still says it detects subtitles even though I have provided a bad url and nothing ends up being displayed.

There is no such feature.
I guess the app could read from the url itself to see if there is anything there.
Recommendation is to have any CC button map to the global caption mode in device info or video node directly. Have them synced all the time.
