How to have our channel appear on Roku as a Regular Channel?

Hopefully some kind soul will save us a little reading and research time... 🙂

Once one develops and gets a new Roku channel approved...

As I understand it...

1 - It is then available as a private channel...
so a viewer must know of the channel already
and then find the code to add it as a private channel... right?

2 - Or is the new channel available in the Roku Store so that a potential viewer can...
... browse the Roku Store
... discover the channel
... then add it to their channels?

3 - Or can you design from the beginning to be listed in the Roku Store?

4 - And the big question is this... Is there a way to be listed by default in the standard Roku Channels... like NetFlix, etc...
So the potential viewer doesn't have to "dig" to find the channel?

Thanks for any help.

Most of those questions are answered by the documentation in the SDK. Take a look at the ChannelPackagingAndPublishing.pdf.
There is no difference between a private and public channel aside from visibility to the end user and the approval process for publishing.

Re: How to have our channel appear on Roku as a Regular Chan

a. - Is a Public Channel 'viewable' as one of the out-of-the-box 'default' channels...

b. - Or must the potential viewer go to the Roku Store and find the channel... then 'activate' it ?

Thanks for the help.

Most likely the latter. You may want to contact partners@roku.com to discuss options for that.
