How do you take screenshots?
In my newly published channel, to the screenshots that I submitted are pictures of the TV screen taken with a camera and they are terrible... What method do you guys use for better quality pictures?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: How do you take screenshots?
I think you can only do this when the channel is running side-loaded. Navigate to your Roku's IP address in your web browser, sign in, then click the Utilities link near the top right, then click the Screenshot button near the bottom.

Thank you! I can't believe I missed the "Utilities" link on top of that page....

It is strategically hidden at the end of https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc ... pplication
(it sure is easy to find it now, after knowing what to search for)

I didn't read the documentation, that was my mistake. I "remembered" how to upload the dev channel to the roku box from my previous - far in the past - encounter with it and I assumed nothing changed. If I remember right there wasn't a "screenshot" feature back then, because the channel store didn't have "see screenshots" option.

Don't forget Secret Screen 2 (for changing screenshot format)

That's good to know.

Does it work for anyone if you change it to PNG? On my TV with fw v7.5.0b4111 it really mucks things up. Trying to take a screenshot changes the screen to what the splash screen was and then gives me that image. Not very useful.
Edit: It looks like the behavior I observed goes back to at least fw v7.2 whether or not I'm trying to take a PNG or JPG screenshot. Each click of the Utilities "Screenshot" button seems to swap the screen buffers on screen and takes a screenshot of one buffer or the other. Maybe it's by design? It's probably been a while since I've used the screenshot utility, but it didn't act this way under earlier firmware.

P.S. - I was able to get a PNG screenshot.

I was hoping that would have a choice for 1920x1080. It doesn't. So pushing on...

Are you saying that you expect a player which is not rendering UI in FHD would have - regardless - a way to capture the screen in FHD? That to me is magical thinking.
Or do you mean that even on a "properly FHD UI" player (Roku 4/Premiere) with manifested ui_resolutions=FHD[,...] - the screenshot is not taken in FHD? That would be unexpected.
