This might sound like a weird/obvious question, but I just want to make sure.

When you're pulling data from the internet with the Roku, be it with roUrlTransfer or when streaming video, are all of those requests coming from the same IP address?

I would imagine that the answer is yes, but just to confirm.

The Roku box always uses DHCP to obtain its IPAddress.... So depending on the lease timeouts your local ipaddress may or may not change.

You ISP will also play into this as the Roku is generally behind a NATed gateway and the external IPAddress is configured by your ISP. Each ISP has their own rules regarding DHCP lease timeouts on dynamic ip addresses....

Assuming you're behind a router, requests to the internet will be coming from whatever IP address you've been assigned by your ISP, regardless of which device on your network is making the request.

Following on what TheEndless and RokuKevin have already explained, you can generally expect all the requests to come from the same address for any given session, but the external address could (and most likely will) change over a longer period of time (all depending on the lease timeouts). As a personal example, when I lived in a Fios area, my external IP address would only change every few weeks. Now that I'm on comcast, I've noticed my address changing more often, every few days. It can potentially be even more frequent than that(although why an isp would want to renew the lease more than once a day is beyond me).

If your connection goes down, then there is a chance your IP address would change when it came back online again.

Good point, that's a case where it could happen while the user is actively using (or trying to use) the Roku.
