Developers can upload channel from their computer to Roku device over a local connection. Can we upload channel from a computer to Roku device through http or via internet.
I mean to say, Can I upload a channel from my home through internet to a Roku device located 200km away from my home?
If that is possible, Can I publish the channel to the store the sameway.
Assume there are 2 office locations 200kms apart. Roku TV and Roku channel developers both are available in 1st office. Channels are shared to 2nd office. 2nd office uploads the channel to the Roku TV available in 1st office over the internet
Thanks,
Harish
No. For security purposes what you are attempting to do will never work.
Get yourself a Roku Express 4K+ for $29.99 ($10 off presently) on Amazon. Key it the same developer key (Rekey with PKG) as the Roku you have in the other office 200km away (same password). Now you will have a Roku in each office but they use the same developer key. When they create packages they will be able to publish to the same channel. Both Roku will be able to access the Roku store and upload/publish packages. Make sure both Roku are registered to the same email address. Have fun.
If you trust all parties involved, just send them the same zip you uploaded to your Roku via email or some other means and let them upload it themselves.
