Automatic channel adding behaviour

Hello,

Our team is working on various customizations to be able to include Roku as a supported device for our VoD service, which will be provided in a region outside the US. Due to the fact that most current premium content channels such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, are not allowed to stream outside the US, one of our customization steps involve that our provisioning department removes these channels from each new Roku before being shipped to the end customer. This has worked well during our testing, but we have also noticed that -apparently- some channels are added automatically (remotely, without user's intention) to the DVP.

Is this correct? Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks.

Re: Automatic channel adding behaviour

That is correct. There are a few channels that are added by default to all user's roku streaming players. Also, there is not currently a way for you to restrict the user from adding any channels after you shipped the roku.

Services that restrict their content outside the US are doing so on their server end.
