How do you know it's the TV and not the remote?
As far as I know most (maybe all?) Roku TVs come with infrared (IR) remotes (which have no voice control capabilities). You should be able to detect if the remote does actually emit IR by pointing it at a digital camera, perhaps one in a cell phone, and observing on the view screen when you press buttons on the remote,
