Roku Stick Remote making high pitch sound

My Roku stick remote makes a high pitch sound and goes through batteries very quickly now fresh batteries aren't even helping and the remote is no longer working.

If this issue is not resolved with your Roku remote making a high pitched noise and not working, can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to pass it along to our Support team who can assist you further.

I am also having this problem. My remote is making a high pitched noise and no longer works, like many others have mentioned. What is the actual solution to this, besides throwing it away?

      Of, course, I had to use the Roku app to find this information, since the regular remote doesn’t work :) but I just sent it to you in reply to your email.
