The latest Roku Media Player update last week takes two minutes to scan over 18,000 songs and then crashes immediately upon playback exiting to HOME screen and taking sound capability with it. It then requires a full reset in order to get sound functionality back.
This is with a 2019 ROKU Express
Check your stack overflow conditions on memory usage for your linked lists and see if proper error and exception handling is in force.
The old version of MEDIA PLAYER could easily handle over 20,000 songs without a problem so the update definitely is not ready for wide release yet.

UPDATE ON ISSUE >>> It's been over a week and situation normal. All F***ed up...
Core Dump....
Stack Overflow Error...
An unrecoverable error has occurred...
In spite of Covid, programmers can still work from home...
Obviously since this abortion of a media player was released at the height of the pandemic.
PLEASE FIX THE BLOODY THING ALREADY!!!!!
DO ROKU PROGRAMMERS EVEN READ THESE FORUMS?
Gary
So I picked up two Roku Premieres thinking it might be a shortage of RAM so I plugged one in and tested it.
Doesn't matter if there's 512 Megs or 1 Gig. It crashes the same way.
This junk is going back to Amazon.
Are you guys so in love with pretty graphics that you sacrifice basic functionality?
Or is this just a scam to get us to upgrade the Roku every two years?
Lose the useless graphic interface and bring us back a media player that just bloody does the job.
Roku pushed thru an update for Media Player Yesterday.
DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
