Audio but no video

I have a Roku 1 (2710 series) that I’m using with a SamsungTV. I’m able to view the roku home screen and the home page of the apps, but when I select a video, there screen goes black and I just have audio. I’ve already toggled the display settings on both my tv and the roku, but that doesn’t do anything.
